OTOOTO CV

“Our mission is to reflect the modern society and put a sound to its vibrations. And through this sound we seek to transmit purity, love and joy”

OTOOTO is a roaring sea made of analog synths and velvety horns. The music is haunting and danceable beats, it’s melodic ear-bugs, fearless improvisations, and instrumental virtuosity. But above all - innovative, beautiful, and contemporary.

The band is composed of some of Denmarks most prominent young musicians who came together to form a contemporary sound that would fuse modern pop/indie with the jazz quintet. They quickly gained recognition among critics, radio channels, and bookers inside and outside Denmark, already boasting two (soon to be three) completed albums on their CV, as well as collaborations with artists such as alt-pop artist Lucky Lo and rapper E. Brown. Alongside OTOOTO, all members of the band are involved in different musical context’s that contribute to the development of contemporary music within and outside of Denmark. Notable mentions include names such as Andreas Odbjerg, Emma Sehested Høeg, Cyrille Aimmee, Wycliff Gordon, Jeremy Pelt and Danish Radio Bigband.

In the fall of 2024, the band will release their third album. The album is their most euphonious endeavor to date, emphasizing the backbone of our Nordic cultural canon - melody.

"Contemporary is the language we speak, the music they play in the grocery store, the advertisements pulsating on YouTube, the movies we watch - and much more. OTOOTO is a laboratory where I, as a musician and composer, can create a mirror in which the world can see itself. Jazz may have lost its connection to the present, but the DNA of jazz is eternally young - it is OTOOTO's mission to let it evolve."
